Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor recently sent out a media invite for the launch of its latest budget smartphone – the Honor 9N in India. Today, as expected, the handset maker has launched the smartphone at an event held in New Delhi. For the uninitiated, the smartphone comes as the re-branded variant of the new Honor 9i, that was launched in China last month.

The smartphone comes with a 5.84-inch display with full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The panel features a notch on the top and is covered by a 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone has been equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor at its core. The handset maker has launched the smartphone in three configurations – 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. The processor also comes with the brand’s proprietary GPU Turbo technology, which is said to offer up to 60 percent performance boost and 30 percent less power consumption. The smartphone offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock for security.

Honor has equipped the 9N with a dual-camera setup on the back with a 13-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel secondary shooter. The shooters come equipped with PDAF and a portrait mode with hardware-level blur effects. For selfies, you will get a 16-megapixel snapper with AI features. On the software front, the smartphone boots the EMUI 8.0 interface based on Android 8.0 Oreo. For power requirements, the Honor 9N relies on a 3,000mAh battery.
