Display and Configuration
The Oppo R9S comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD (1,080 x 1,920 pixels) display and weighs 145 grams. It has a pixel density of 401ppi and there is Corning Gorilla Glass v5, Scratch-resistant glass on top. Under the hood, there is a 2GHz octa-core Cortex A53 processor aided by 4GB of RAM and Adreno 506 graphics engine seated upon Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 chipset. The device boots on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and is available in three colour variants – black, gold and rose gold. Look wise, a new slot antenna design is present near the top and bottom of the back cover. It seems that it is made to prevent the user’s hands from interfering with the signal.
Camera and Storage
In terms of photography, a 16MP camera (Exmor-RS CMOS sensor -1.7f aperture) is there at the back which captures quality pictures. Selfie lovers can capture nice shots from the 16MP front snapper. For storing data, the device packs in 64GB internal memory which can be further increased upto more 128GB using a microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
The device gets its energy from a 3,010mAh li-polymer battery inclusive of fast charging (VOOC flash charge). It is expected that one shall get around two hours of talk time with just 5 minutes for charge. In terms of connectivity, the device offers options such as dual SIM, 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS with A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.
The Oppo R9S is made for best gaming, multitasking, video and audio experience. A superb battery backup is what everybody wants nowadays and nevertheless this model does the same and that too with fast charging support. Coming to shooters, both the cameras do click marvellous pictures, be it day or night. However, for more enhanced camera results, especially front camera, the user can buy an external mini mobile LED light.
