Xiaomi is all set to unveil its upcoming smartphone, the Redmi Pro next week. Ahead of the official launch, a lot has already been leaked about the smartphone, giving us a gist of what to expect. Now, the company CEO Lei Jun took to Weibo to confirm that the smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X25 10-core processor and also include dual camera setup at the back.
Besides posting a photo confirming the processor, Jun also asked users about popular smartphones that are powered by the deca-core chipset. As of now, the Meizu Pro 6 and LeEco Le 2 Pro are the only smartphones running on the Helio X25 chipset. He also asked a question to Xiaomi fans “Some smartphones use two cameras to take pictures, what would you call this technology? Jun also give three options — dual cameras, dual lens and double cameras, GizmoChina reports.
In another leak, a handful of blurry photos have also surfaced showing off the box of the smartphone with its name, metal unibody design with brushed finish. The antenna bands along the top and bottom are also visible in the leaked photos. The third blurry photo also shows off dual camera module with dual tone LED flash placed between them.
From the earlier teasers, we have learned that the Redmi Pro could flaunt an OLED display. However, details about the display size and resolution are scarce at the moment. The alleged Redmi Pro smartphone was also spotted in Geekbench listing which revealed the processor and 4GB of RAM. There are chances wherein we may also see an affordable 3GB RAM variant.
From the leaked photos we can see that the fingerprint scanner is missing from the back. However, rumors claim that it could be present on the front, embedded within the physical home button. Usual set of connectivity features such as 4G LTE and support for VoLTE voice calling, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac could also be expected. On the software front, the smartphone could run on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
