Design and Display
The HTC Desire 616 comes with a brilliant 5-inch multi capacitive touchscreen built with 16M colors, 720p HD resolution and a stunning pixel density of 294 ppi. In spite of the dual speakers on the front and the slim metallic finish, the manufacturer has opted for a shiny back along with a lone speaker grille on the front. Its dimensions of 142 x 71.9 x 9.1 mm makes it quite slimmer compared to other gadgets of the same size.
Configuration and OS
The smartphone cum phablet runs typical Android v4.2.2 OS (Jelly Bean) out of the box along with HTC Sense UI. The presence of a 1.7GHz Cortex A7 octa-core processor built on MediaTek MT6592 chipset enables HTC to keep its price at a decent level. A GPU in the form of Mali 400MP4 enables the user to run powerful videos and games in a seamless fashion. The HTC Desire 616 features the standard 1GB RAM to support the processor.
Camera and Storage
A powerful 8MP autofocus rear camera inclusive of LED flash comes at the rear end of the handset. There is no info about the quality of the secondary camera yet. Additional features expected in the rear camera include HDR, geo-tagging, HD video capture, face detection and touch focus. You can even shoot videos while capturing images.
Storage and Connectivity
The HTC Desire 616 has sufficient 8GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 64GB. Networking and connectivity options loaded in the gadget include GPRS with EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, micro-USB 2.0 port, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and GPS/AGPS.
